Founded in 1890, the Scranton Lace Company was a global leader in lace production and one of the largest employers of women in the United States. The factory was also known for prioritizing employee well-being, offering amenities such as a bowling alley, basketball court, and theater. At its height, Scranton Lace designs could be found in homes around the world.
During World War II, the company manufactured camouflage and Victory Parachutes. However, as global demand for lace declined, the factory closed in 2002. The once-thriving building became a fading symbol of Scranton’s industrial past.
In 2006, a visionary redevelopment group acquired the dormant factory with plans to create a mixed-use space that seamlessly integrates residential, commercial, and retail amenities.
Every corner of this multi-use complex honors Scranton’s rich industrial heritage. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the buildings—including the iconic clock tower—have been thoughtfully restored to their original grandeur.
